Space Career Fair

The National Space Symposium offers a rich portfolio of educational programs for students and teachers. We pride ourselves on delivering programs that both inspire participants and deliver tangible benefits, and our participants will attest to our many successes at meeting these goals.

The 26th National Space Symposium, scheduled April 12-15, 2010, is much closer to final exams and other events that make it difficult for graduating college students to travel. Additionally, many aerospace companies will have already completed the bulk of their 2010 recruitment by April and the current economy offers limited availability of entry-level space industry jobs. Therefore, we have decided to not hold a Space Career Fair in 2010. We will continue to evaluate the economy and job climate and hope to hold an event in 2011 that provides meaningful opportunities to students seeking careers in space.

While we have seen a lessening in entry-level positions, the space industry continues to offer bright prospects for the long-term. We urge students interested in space careers to continue their searches by directly contacting companies in which they have interest and by keeping up with space activities. Good sources of information about space and the space industry can be found at www.SpaceFoundation.org.
